Sushi, Saki and Silk at Gwynn’s!

We are very excited to announce our collaboration with the Gibbes Museum of Art to host the ultimate art-inspired shopping & sushi event! Join us on November 3rd from 2pm-5pm for Sushi, Saki and Silk – an event to celebrate the new and exclusive line of silk scarves that will be sold at Gwynn’s and the Gibbes Museum of Art.

These fantastic silk scarves feature the work of Charleston artist and plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Hagerty. And, of course, we will be providing sushi and saki while you do your shopping! Plus, a percentage of all store proceeds during the event will go toward the Gibbes Museum of Art to support all of their amazing work.

One of Hagerty’s most well-known pieces, “Charleston,” which was selected as the 1984 Piccolo Spoleto poster, along with six of his other works, will be featured on 100% silk scarves and will be available to purchase during the event as well as at the Gibbes Museum Store. These limited edition scarves will be the ultimate addition to anyone looking to add a unique, statement piece to their wardrobe!

For all you shoppers and art lovers out there, this is also a great chance for you to meet Dr. Haggerty. This self-taught surrealist painter began painting in medical school, finding inspiration in the need to balance the right-brain rigors of his intense medical training. His artwork certainly shows his creativity on all levels.

Hagerty’s highly imaginative fantasy-based works have been the focus of a dozen solo shows and many group exhibitions. He is represented by the Corrigan Gallery in Charleston and the Gibbes Museum of Art has three of his pieces in its permanent collection.

View our Facebook event for all of the details and let us know you’re coming…we hope you see you there!
